Jackie Landis - 20 Years of Service
Jackie Landis, our food services manager, was recently recognized with a plaque celebrating her two decades of service to The Bridge. Her loyalty to this organization and her dedication to excellence are evident in everything she does. When Jackie was first hired at The Bridge (8/28/89) we had two residential programs serving about 150 meals each day. Our kitchen was located in what is now the TA office in the Mitchell Program. The main class/group room in Mitchell was our cafeteria. During our high growth years (1995 through 2007) Jackie became the food services manager for Gadsden, Mobile, Jemison Group Home, Camp Mitnick, Hands Home and the Eufaula Youth Center. At the peak, Jackie was ordering and supervising food preparation for 12 programs serving 1,225 meals each day. In addition to making certain the food is ordered, cooked and served, Jackie manages the child nutrition program, ensuring nutritional guidelines and stringent reporting to the Alabama Department of Education. Jackie uses her experience, knowledge, wisdom, and good old-fashioned common sense in coordinating and managing the food services programs of The Bridge, Inc. Her strong work ethic and dedication to this organization make her invaluable! |
